Once unplugging the USB from the laptop, the onboard mic would be detected and all the above programs would see the mic levels without issue. When in Windows sound manager- you could not see any microphone levels when testing it. Within the DAW (I use Mixcraft 7) - the Apollo works amazingly, however, I had a need to do a directed session - skype would feed the audio through the headphones (plugged into the front of the Apollo) but the mic would not be detected by the following live html 5 based VOIP programs: I spent around 12 hours digging through forum posts and working in IT, I like to fix problems. The device within your sound manager shows up as a 'Line in' versus a microphone. This is for a specific Windows 10 issue where you can record within your DAW but the microphone does not work in any other application. I-7, 8GB DDR3 RAM, 1TB HDD, NVIDIA 745M graphics, Realtek sound card. AT4040 Microphone - XLR -> Apollo Twin USB Please note this fix applies to the REALTEK Drivers only, if you have a non integrated card, this solution may not work. I found several forum posts that were close but only one that had my exact issue, which had no resolution that I could find. I got this working finally at 95% with some tweaking.
